National Register listing is a multi-part process.
First, the Rhode Island Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission nominates properties to the National Register. Next, the RIHPHC Review Board reviews and evaluates nominations. Those nominations approved by the Review Board are forwarded to the National Park Service in Washington, DC for final approval and listing on the National Register.
