From noon to dusk on Saturday, August 25, 2007, the RI Historical Preservation & Heritage Commission presents the 30th Annual Heritage Festival. The Rhode Island State House lawn, at the intersection of Gaspee and Francis streets, will be the setting for this exciting and delicious event.
Participants in 2007 include African-American, Armenian, Bolivian, Cape Verdean, Chinese, Greek, Guatemalan, Heritage Harbor, Indian, Irish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Laotian, Panamanian, Portuguese, Puerto Rican, Scottish, and Turkish Subcommittees. |
| All day long, the stage will showcase performances from around the world. African-American, Bolivian, Chinese, Indian, Irish, Korean, Laotian, Portuguese, Puerto Rican, and Scottish groups will perform music and dance throughout the day. From traditional square and round dances to headline act Sidy Maiga's Drumming Group from Mali, Africa, you will be entertained. | ![]() |

A dozen tents will feature exhibits of traditional art and clothing and delicious food from around the world. Sample Turkish baklava, Guatemalan mixtas, and Scottish shortbread. Learn Korean Taekwondo, Japansese calligraphy, and Bolivian arts and crafts. Under the Children's Tent, there will be face-painting and crafts. |
